Serving those Experiencing Homelessness with Todd Langton of Agape, Friday, Jan 19 at 7 PM virtually
Todd Langton, Executive Director of Agape Silicon Valley, talks about his work. The mission of Agape Silicon Valley is: To enhance the quality of life of the unhoused in Silicon Valley by identifying and serving the most vulnerable.
On the last Saturday morning of each month, Agape Silicon Valley delivers food, water, supplies and clothing to 20 different unhoused communities in Santa Clara and Alameda counties. They also use an intake form with the unhoused individual. This questionnaire helps provide needed resources and benefits for the individual and lead them to becoming housed.
Throughout the week, they are in regular contact with our unhoused friends. Food and supplies are our tools to gain trust, but this is merely a first step. Once trust is built, Agape finds success by matching our unhoused friends with the vast resources available from large non-profits and government agencies.
This virtual meeting is our regular third Friday WILPF SJ meeting.
