June 15, World Refugee Day, Peace of Cake and Refugee Stories

Friday, June 15, from 5-7 PM at San Jose City Hall: World Refugee Day followed a WILPF meeting about refugees at 7 at the San Jose Peace and Justice Center.

The 26th Annual World Refugee Day celebration will recognize the contributions of refugees in our community. Bring your family and friends and enjoy a fun, free evening with cultural displays, entertainment activities, international foods, prizes and more.

Then, at 7 PM, make your way to the San Jose Center for Peace and Justice, 48 South 7th Street, San Jose, to join WILPFers for a Peace of Cake and an evening of story telling about what it means to be a refugee. Several among us are refugees or immigrants and all of us have ancestors who were immigrants. Join the evening of stories of our roots. If you don't have a story to tell, bring your listening self and witness the stories of others.

Raging Grannies will sing refugee songs at the Peace Center and you are invited to join in!
