July 20, Special Social Gathering, Raging Grannies Rehearsal and Anti-nuclear sign making event
This is a special rehearsal! Sign making, potluck and singing under the oak tree! Starting at 3 PM!
At 3 PM we'll gather to create signs to use during anti-nuclear commemorations of Hiroshima and Nagasaki days, August 6 and 9. We'll be outdoors so dress accordingly. Evenings can be cool.
We will eat at 5 PM. The solar ovens will cook the hot food, if there is sun. You are invited to bring plant foods to contribute to the salad. That means, prepared (cut into serving sized pieces), whole (you can recognize it as coming from the plant kingdom), salad fixings that will get tossed together with what others bring. (It's a metaphor for being in a group--many different pieces make up the whole and nothing works too well alone.) Dressings will be provided.
At 7 PM, we will bring out the song sheets and rehearse our Granny songs. Everyone is invited to sing along.
By 8:30, it will likely be too cool to stay out much longer.
RSVP so we know how much main dish to cook in the solar ovens.
